Cardan Capital Partners is a proud sponsor of World Denver’s 2020 International Women’s Day Luncheon, joining the global celebration of women’s economic, political and social achievements. The day is also a call to action to work for gender parity throughout the coming year.

This year’s theme of “Women in Sports” attracted more than 800 event participants — including distinguished speakers on issues of gender equity in their international experiences as athletes, business owners and government officials. Keynote speaker Lauryn Williams – a four-time Olympian, three-time Olympic medalist and the first American woman and fifth person to medal in both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games — delivered an inspiring message. She mentioned aspects of her fight for equality of benefits for college athletes and encouraged women to rise up together when faced with adversity. She also urged audience members to accept themselves for the people they are today — instead of embracing the belief that they will be good enough only after they have met certain goals.

“I am enough,” she said, adding that preparation in life is still key. “If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.”

The day also featured the 2nd Annual Big Pitch Competition sponsored by Microsoft, during which entrepreneurs presented innovative initiatives in the realms of health, wellness and sports for a chance to win the grand prize of a Microsoft Surface and a Premier Services package in accounting, legal and marketing consulting.
